Quality, Service & Integrity

The Holmes & Brakel customer-centric foundation of Quality, Service and Integrity shapes our culture, values and beliefs guiding our every decision and action. Together we are building offices that work.

Holmes & Brakel is committed to the never-ending process of creating and refining innovative workspace solutions that are equally as diverse as our customers.

When opening our doors in 1975, the decision was made to choose Pickering as Holmes & Brakel’s headquarters with the vision to become a contract interiors business that works with clients on a local, national, and international scale. In 1983 Holmes & Brakel made the decision to align as partners with Teknion Furniture Systems, at the time a small growing Canadian company rather than the larger well established manufactures south of the border, albeit risky at the time. Building on success in Pickering, since then the company has opened four other locations across North America. Today, Holmes & Brakel has developed into a mature and profitable company focused on servicing all industry sectors, and represents some of the finest office furniture manufacturers in North America. Further proof of its success is shown with the well-rounded list of high-profile clients and projects completed.

With a vision to continue to shape the industry and provide best in class service, Holmes & Brakel pioneered the concept of “in-house” installation. In 1980, Holmes & Brakel established a wholly owned independent installation & service company to satisfy an increasing demand for quality office furniture installation by providing well-equipped, trained crews of installers who could handle large projects in a professional manner. In response to fluctuation in the marketplace, the strategic decision was made to diversify the installation company’s source of projects. This diversification is key to providing service to large corporations and on large-scale installations.

Holmes & Brakel has completed installation of a complex 4,500 workstation 10 month implementation of a LEED NC Gold project while also installing a 1,500 workstation LEED CI Gold project concurrently phased project.  While most of our competitors can claim they have done a project in excess of 1,000 workstations once or twice in the past, Holmes & Brakel has proven capabilities to handle these types of projects not only year after year, but as well multiples at the same time while also providing just as much attention to the day to day work of much smaller furniture projects.

Holmes and Brakel will continue to strengthen our ability to service our clients throughout North America, with future expansion plans for both Holmes & Brakel in the United States, and installation in Canada.

Holmes & Brakel is led by the front line managers at each branch office along with a cross disciplined leadership team in Pickering who have responsibilities across the entire business. Under the guidance of this leadership team, each individual in the company is empowered to make decisions that best serve clients.
