Lakeridge Health

Our relationship with Lakeridge Health has been ongoing for approximately 10 years. H&B provides all new product, space planning, inventory management, existing furniture reconfigurations, installation, and furniture related services for the various sites throughout Durham Region. H&B is responsible for the continuous review and development of workplace standards, specifications, project management, and installation to meet the changing needs of each site.


University Health Network – Princess Margaret Hospital

The Princess Margaret Hospital created a new cancer research centre within its existing facility. The project covered approximately 30,000 sq. ft. of open floor space to be designed to accommodate the research facility. The entire project was created by H&B with direction from designers and end users.  The total project included 185 workstations and 14 private offices. The floor is now a working showpiece for Princess Margaret Hospital.


Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP)

As a full service contract office interiors company, Holmes & Brakel was tasked with taking two full floor plates of the client’s space and replacing it all with new furnishings – 200 workstations in all. The client had H&B recycle the 25-year-old furniture and replace it with all new Teknion systems.

This project was phased over a 4-month period with all of the work being completed in four phases over weekends. Given the tight timelines, the plan to phase in the furniture was extremely detailed to ensure success. H&B worked closely with Vestacon Construction and Plan Electric Group to make sure the project was completed on time and on budget.


Lennox & Addington Family and Children’s Services

H&B worked closely with the Architect and Lennox & Addington over a three-month period to create and workspace for their new administrative building in 2010. Utilizing Teknion’s various product lines along with SpaceSaver high density filing, H&B met the unique requirements of the client needs for collaboration, storage, and ergonomics.

Supporting the teams of individuals, while allowing the natural light to penetrate the complete building, the client’s envisioned bright, spacious and welcoming environment was realized. H&B was responsible for the development of workplace standards, specifications, project management and installation.


Rouge Valley Health System

Holmes & Brakel was tasked with outfitting the new Cardiac Diagnostic wing and Diagnostic Imaging Centre at Rouge Valley Health in a very short time frame. We worked alongside Aecon Group Inc. to make sure that the new expansion was equipped with furniture for the private offices and common waiting areas.

Holmes & Brakel was given the opportunity to work with Rouge Valley as a result of our long-term relationships with other well-known hospitals in North America. We met the tight schedule with zero deficiencies on the project, which ensured the Cardiac Diagnostic expansion and the Diagnostic Imaging renovation were completed on time.
